Toyota has launched a safety recall involving approximately 539,500 Corolla and Matrix vehicles sold in the U.S. The recall concerns 2003 and 2004 Model Year Corolla and Matrix models equipped with power windows. GM Recalling Supercharged Buick Regal & Pontiac Grand Prix Sedans

Today’s recall concerns 207,542 MY 1997-2003 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles equipped with a 3.8L supercharged V6 engine. 1. It is strongly recommend that owners do not park their vehicle in a garage, car port, or other structure
  2. If owners notice a burning odor, they should have their dealer inspect the vehicle. The dealer will inspect the vehicle without charge
  3. Use premium fuel (91 octane or higher) in the vehicle as recommended in the vehicle's owner manual.

If you still have any questions, we’d advise you to contact Buick at 1-866-608-8080 or Pontiac at 1-800-620-7668.

Nissan Recalling 372,250 MY 1997-2001 Pathfinder & Infiniti QX4 Models

Nissan USA has announced that it’s recalling 372,250 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4 SUV’s from the 1997-2001 model years due to a potential risk of corrosion in the fuel filler tube assembly which could lead to a fire –though no reports of fires or injuries have been reported. The Japanese carmaker stated that, during the coating process of the tube, a sufficient coating may not have been applied at the lower mounting bracket resulting in an opening in the coating which can allow water to enter and make contact with the bare metal of the tube.

While in most states this won’t lead to the perforation of the tube, in the so-called “cold-weather” states, a mixture of snow/water and salt could cause corrosion on the bare metal part of the tube thus allowing fuel to leak.-Continued after the jump

So just to keep on the safe side, Nissan / Infiniti dealers will replace the fuel filler tube assembly with a new one on all Pathfinder & QX4 1997-2001 models originally sold in or currently registered in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. 2007 Nissan Altima: 140.852 Cars Recalled Over Fire Fears

Nissan’s best selling 2007 US-model, the Altima is being recalled due to a problem with the air-filter that could result to a fire in the engine bay. More specifically, the recall affects 140.852 cars equipped with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), on certain vehicles, if a sufficiently hot object enters the air filter housing through the engine fresh air intake system and contacts the engine air filter, the flammability characteristics of the air filter material are such that the filter may ignite.

NHSTA had opened an investigation back in May after reports of at least two fires breaking out in engine compartments while owners were driving. Nissan dealers will replace the air filter with a new one that has improved anti-flammability material characteristics. The recall has already began and will continue through October 1, 2007. For more information, we suggest that 2007 Altima owners contact Nissan USA at 1-800-647-7261.
